Both my teen and preteen daughters experienced some rough patches during the tumultuous adolescent years and she was the anchor that helped keep us grounded through a real crisis. She was unable to sleep in her bed alone and was experiencing anxiety attacks every time she had to stay overnight anywhere, including her grandparent's house. -"As a guy, I started going to Dari when I was sixteen and right out of a hospital. It was a very hard time in my life, but Dari helped me through it for the next two years of my life. She helped fortify my direction and drive to a successful future and not waste it away, while maintaining a balance that my life could cooperate with well. -"I am a male, age 58, who had come to see Dari on the recommendation of a high school counselor. My 18 year old daughter was in crisis and was nearly admitted to Morristown Memorial. My daughter was not too keen on the notion of working with a counselor. Her first experience with a counselor years before was not very positive. Based on her situation, we agreed that she needed to try counseling again. She had been under the care of a psychiatrist for a number of months before her crisis. Dari was the first counselor we saw and on leaving her office my daughter whispered to me that she did not see any need in meeting the others under consideration. Dari's office is a calm, soothing, and safe place for all, patients and their parents. It really sets the tone for everything that follows from a therapeutic perspective. Dari worked effectively at developing a rapport with my daughter. Her constant message of empowerment helped my daughter begin to improve. She also worked very closely with me and made herself available over the phone or for an appointment to allow me to participate in my daughter's care, while respecting her right to privacy at all times. Dari's message of empowerment is important for parents as well. During the time my daughter worked with her, I was in the process of divorcing. She helped me understand how to navigate a very difficult course and helped keep my daughter and myself whole. Dari worked very effectively to help my daughter and I to actively work through an extremely difficult time. She helped us begin to learn how to build new lives together!"
